ACCOUNTING & FINANCE FOR LAWYERS
(LAWB-4040) - 1 UNIT
This is an introductory course designed for students with NO accounting or finance education, training or experience. This course will provide students with an understanding of basic accounting and finance concepts with a focus on how they are used by, and relevant to, transactional lawyers. Students will gain an understanding of (i) how to read and analyze financial statements, (ii) key financial ratios, and (iii) basic principles of valuation and finance. The course is intended as a high-level overview to introduce students to basic principles of accounting and finance that transactional business lawyers need to know in representing clients who are involved in business transactions.
