REPRESENTING TALENT IN TELEVISION
(LAWF-4105) - 2 UNITS

This course will focus on all aspects of representing talent including actors, writers, directors, producers and authors from the perspective of an entertainment attorney in both scripted and unscripted television. We will cover issues relating to the development, financing, production and distribution of both longform programs and episodic television series for broadcast, cable and the streaming services. Our class will get a practitioner's perspective from selling a concept, negotiation of principal television contracts and accounting of profit participations in the television business. The course will be taught be two practicing entertainment attorneys with significant experience at the studios as well as talent agencies.

Some understanding of copyright law will be helpful but is not required.
