INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL LAW
(LAWG-1010) - 3 UNITS

This elective for first year students will provide a general introduction to International Law, including an overview of both "public" international law - rules governing the conduct of nations, and "private" international law - rules governing what law will apply to business transactions and individual activities. It will also examine the status of international law in the U.S. legal system and how international law issues are adjudicated in American courts. It will provide a suitable foundation for taking any advanced international law elective and will satisfy the course requirement for the Loyola International & Comparative Law Review.
