CONCILIATION & MEDIATION ASSISTANCE CLINIC AT THE CENTER FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION
(LAWI-5001) - 4 UNIT

Conciliation & Mediation Assistance Clinic (C-MAC): At C-MAC students receive mediation training and then provide conciliation (telephone mediation), and face-to-face mediation services in a wide variety of cases, including, but not limited to, landlord-tenant, neighbor-to-neighbor, family disputes including divorce, dependency court cases, consumer-merchant, discrimination and organizational conflicts. C-MAC is a project of the Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution. Students may take units (number is flexible), and satisfy their pro bono requirement. Those students who wish to mediate in Dependency Court must be available on Monday or Tuesday and pass the court's background check. Work study positions are also available each semester. A two-semester commitment is requested. Students get invaluable hands-on conciliation and mediation experience. Students also do intake work, convening of cases, conciliation, and co-mediation under professional supervision. C-MAC is available to take in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Please contact the CCR at 213-736-1083 to set-up a required information group interview to learn more about the clinic.
