PERSUASIVE SPEAKING AND PRESENTING FOR LAWYERS
(LAWJ-4260) - 1 UNIT

Lawyers are professional communicators. Much of that communication happens orally-from courtroom arguments to client meetings and everything in between. This course teaches students to speak and present persuasively in each of these settings. Students will learn the fundamentals of effective oral communication in legal settings, including how to hold an audience?s attention, frame a message for maximum appeal, create impactful visual aids, and perfect their vocal and physical delivery. Assignments include delivering an informative legal presentation, presenting an opening statement, counseling a client, and a giving a persuasive speech.
