TEACHING ASSISTANT SEMINAR
(LAWJ-8067) - 1 UNIT

An introduction to instructional skills and strategies for assisting other students in writing, editing, and revising their work. This course is designed for students who would like to develop and practice editing and revision skills as well as those interested in exploring teaching, especially lawyering skills. In this two-semester course, students participate in professional development activities tailored to developing the skill set necessary to provide feedback on legal writing and they experience various approaches to teaching and learning. Students have one semester of coursework and two semesters as teaching assistants/writing tutors for other students, providing feedback and presenting under a professor's supervision on a writing-related topic. Application and professor approval required.
