MODERN REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS - COMMERCIAL

This course explores the fundamentals of a commercial real estate transaction, particularly the contract and financing process. Students learn about the following topics: roles of brokers and lawyers; contracts, sales and commercial leasing; mortgage/mortgage substitutes (including preclosing/postclosing financing conditions and problems); securing transactions; title; defaults, workouts, and foreclosures; and dispute resolution. The focus is upon the legal and practical aspects of topical issues faced throughout a commercial sale or lease transaction.
