SMART CONTRACTS AND DECENTRALIZED FINANCE

A workshop and survey exploring the legal, technological and policy implications of blockchain, decentralized finance ("DeFi"), and Web3. Blockchain technology enables the deployment of smart contracts which provide for the automatic execution of transactions upon the fulfillment of specified conditions. Smart contracts are utilized within DeFi for payments, foreign exchange, derivatives, insurance contracts and other financial transactions. Smart contracts are also used to establish ownership of real-world assets (RWAs) and virtual-world tokens. Web3 refers to an emergent application space built on blockchain technology for next generation social media and online commerce. The workshop will include hands-on experience with blockchain technology.
